PET THERAPY ENTERS THE ONCOLOGY WARDS
At the Rizzoli Orthopedic Hospital in Bologna, Animal-Assisted Education (AAI) interventions bring a simple yet valuable touch to the wards: connection, presence, and attention.
The initiative is made possible thanks to the commitment of the AGITO ODV association, led by President Sabrina Bergonzoni, and the collaboration with ChiaraMilla and Dr. Marina Casciani.
The project is active in the Oncology and Spine Surgery wards of the Third Clinic, where many patients face complex, lengthy, and demanding treatment journeys.
In such a delicate moment, contact with an animal is not just a caress, but becomes a moment in which the body relaxes and the mind slows down: a few minutes of interaction helps reduce anxiety and makes the treatment journey more manageable.
