We start from Switzerland, with the Europack Summit in Montreux, scheduled for 10 to 12 March, where Ecocap’s will be present with the entire Cassoli Group.
The second appointment in March, from 12 to 14 March, is with the Antad Expo in Guadalajara in Mexico, dedicated to horeca and retail professionals, with over 1,100 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors every year.
In the same period, from 12 to 15 March, Ecocap’s will be a guest of Appex – Australasia’s Processing & Packaging Expo. The Melbourne event, specialized in processing and packaging services, with hundreds of companies involved.
Both in Mexico and in Australia, the Bolognese company will have the opportunity to present its patent TopSyl, the aluminium capsule placed to seal the cans: an innovative system that protects the opening of the cans, guarantees hygiene and safety and transforms into an effective and powerful marketing tool for companies.
The connection and collaboration with the surrounding community have always been essential elements for the Cassoli Group, which participates on the front line in the construction of careful social sustainability in the contexts in which it operates.
This type of commitment translates into support for organizations such as the Emporio Solidale il Sole, a non-profit association in Casalecchio di Reno, which distributes food aid and provides accompanying measures to assist people in difficulty.
A support, that of the Cassoli Group, which made it possible to support “Latte al Sole” in 2023, a project which resulted in the purchase of 0 km milk from local farmers, material for packaging the products and to support general expenses of the project for the period of the year.
An attention paid to the community that the Cassoli Group has decided to pursue also in 2024, renewing its proximity to the Emporium, which contributes with its activity to improving the well-being of the local community.
The Emporio Solidale il Sole supports numerous vulnerable families, providing food, personal and domestic hygiene products, and offering a point of listening and exchange between people.
Among the activities carried out by the structure is the “Latte al Sole” project which was born within the collaboration with the local high schools promoted by the Metropolitan City of Bologna and the Municipality of Casalecchio di Reno.
The Emporio Solidale il Sole purchases milk at zero km from local farmers, helping to support the economy and agriculture of the area. The A. Serpieri Agricultural Institute, thanks to the authorized laboratory present within it, processes milk into products such as yogurt, cheese and similar products.
The process involves students and professors, promoting the achievement of multiple objectives: training of students and their involvement in solidarity activities, combating food poverty, spreading correct lifestyles and combating diseases linked to food poverty.
Finally, the processed products are made available to families in difficulty in the care of Emporio il Sole.
Over the course of the year, the structure has grown by implementing projects such as the creation, within the Institute, of a chicken coop with Bolognese hens that will supply eggs and derived products to the Emporium.

Properly recycling aluminium cans could lead to savings of 60 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, according to a recent report commissioned by the International Aluminium Institute. This study looked at the industry and the circular economy globally, focusing on evaluating can management systems in Australia, Cambodia, South Korea, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. The choice of these six countries is based on their ability to significantly represent various production and cultural modes.
For each of the six states taken into consideration, various aspects were examined, including waste management, current regulations, collection structures, recycling and disposal rates, volumes introduced on the market, usage trends, overall performance, used beverage can trading, material flows and future goals. These six countries are divided into three main categories:
As a result, South Korea has the highest recovery rate of 96%, followed by Vietnam at 93%, Cambodia at 90%, Thailand at 86%, Australia at 74%, with the United Arab Emirates leading they record the lowest rate at 33%.
Aluminum cans remain the favorite in the alcohol and soft drinks industry, with global consumption expected to increase by 50% between 2020 and 2030 (i.e. 420 to 630 billion cans per year).
The “can-to-can” recycling process of aluminium cans continues to encounter difficulties, as highlighted by Marlen Bertram, Director of Scenarios and Forecasts at the International Aluminium Institute.
Bertram says this comprehensive study confirms what was published in 2022, claiming that globally 71% or more of all aluminium cans placed on the market are recycled. Adding losses during processing, the recycling rate of aluminium cans increases to 79% in the six countries analysed. However, it should be noted that this figure refers to general recycling, which involves melting used cans into new ingots.
The main problem is represented by “can-to-can” recycling, i.e. the direct transformation process from can to can, which records significantly lower rates. In the case of Korea, the country with the highest recovery rate, only 37% of new cans are recycled using this approach. In this specific ranking, Thailand stands out with 78% “can-to-can” recycling, making it the best in this practice.
Christmas holidays in the name of unity, sharing and social responsibility that Cassoli Group – with the companies CPS Company, Nema Automazione and Ecocap’s is enthusiastically preparing to celebrate together with employees and families.
In an atmosphere of joy and conviviality, the day will be marked by the traditional company lunch. At the Casalecchio headquarters, directly in the production area, a chef will prepare a traditional Valencian paella, with the possibility of enjoying it also in a vegetarian version.
This moment of celebration will become an opportunity to strengthen bonds and strengthen the sense of belonging and cohesion. The company, strong in the values of collaboration and mutual respect that have always characterized it, intends to transform this Christmas into an experience where everyone can feel part of a big family.
In the afternoon, through a “home lottery”, freebies and gifts received from suppliers will be redistributed among employees.
Also for these holidays, the company’s support for local community activities continues which, as usual, translates into gift baskets made up of Km0 tortellini and a panettone or pandoro from the ANT Foundation, purchased with the aim of supporting the association and his important and precious work of oncological assistance.
To further strengthen the social commitment, which has always distinguished the Cassoli family, the project in favour of the IL SOLE Solidarity Emporium has been renewed for 2024.
The association of volunteers deals with the distribution of food aid and provides support to assist people in difficulty. There are hundreds of vulnerable families in the area that the association’s volunteers follow, providing food, personal and domestic hygiene products, and offering a place for people to listen and exchange.
